Consulting Services

Jakata specialises in supporting and advising organisations in pre-transaction IT due-diligence, transformation and service improvement within the CIO's technology department. A consultative and analytic approach is used to support this with a focus on:

  • Optimising cost efficiencies of the internal IT organisation

  • Bridging the gap between business needs and technology and exploiting opportunity

  • Improving IT agility and time to market

  • Driving innovation and transition and transformation (T&T)

  • Optimising sourcing and use of outsourcing, offshoring and 3rd party vendors

  • Enhancing quality, stability and customer satisfaction

  • Providing an independent, trusted-advisor role to organisations embarking on major bids and programmes

The consulting services will be tailored to the specific needs of the organisation and requirements of the CIO, but experience has shown that there are common themes around which improvement can be made. These often include aspects of:

IT Organisation Structure

  • Effectiveness - perception and reality

  • Divisions of responsibility

  • Size, scale and distribution of staff

  • Provision for future change or transformation

  • ITIL and DevOps interoperation and Agile techniques

Sourcing Strategy

  • Optimal use of partners and offshoring

  • Effectiveness of partners

  • Management of skills and attrition

Infrastructure Management

  • Management of assets and cost base

  • In-house, cloud and hybrid strategies

  • Planning for future developments

Service Management

  • Effectiveness of SLAs

  • Process and workflow

  • Customer satisfaction

  • Establishment of meaningful dashboards

Information Security

  • Compliance and audits

  • Establishment of security operations

Business Continuity

  • Effective business continuity planning

  • Disaster recovery

It is frequently the case that organisations’ IT functions do perform, but not at the levels that can be achieved. This may be in terms of cost, agility or performance, and lead to some element of dissatisfaction internally and/or with customers. Using a structured analysis of objectives, issues, metrics, existing practices and operational processes, the review process is targeted at identifying both short- and long-term opportunities. These establish the framework for improvement, setting timelines, baseline scorecards and continued review of progress to ensure delivery of value over time.

An established set of scorecards may be used in order to assess current, interim and future performance, thus permitting continual corrective action to ensure focus and direction are maintained. Jakata can engage for short, occasional reviews over a longer period of time in order to provide this level of tracking.

Please make contact with us should you wish to explore any of the service areas in more detail.
